Alfred van Elk: Decades of expertise in thoughtful industrial design with a timeless character

With an extensive background in industrial design, Alfred van Elk develops intuitive, high-end products for a diverse range of clients and brands. Following his studies in Interior Architecture & Furniture Design, he graduated cum laude in Industrial Design from the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague. His approach is rooted in years of experience at renowned agencies such as Frans de la Haye Design, Philips Design, TNO, and Well Design, as well as his role as co-founder and partner of studioMOM.

Since 2007, Alfred has operated from his personal studio, combining deep-seated expertise with a flexible and dedicated approach. From a circular perspective, he creates thoughtful designs that retain their value and contribute to a sustainable future. Working in close collaboration with clients as both a designer and strategic partner, he ensures that the needs of the client, the market, and the user are translated into a fitting and meaningful design.

In addition to his design practice, he served for twenty years as a lecturer at the Industrial Design program of the KABK. Throughout his career, he has built an impressive track record as a designer, with his work for various clients receiving multiple awards.
